Taffy, pseudonym of Katherine Quaye, was born in Deptford (London) on 3 October 1963. She began her solo career in 1977 under the name “Taffy Quay”. From 1978 to 1979 she was a valet on Rai 1 alongside Raimondo Vianello and Sandra Mondaini in the TV show "Io e la Befana". In 1983 she made an appearance as an actress in the film "Segni Particolari Bellissimo" with Adriano Celentano. His best years, however, were between 1984 and 1987 under the production of Claudio Cecchetto. The main hit songs were "Walk Into The Daylight" (which was Deejay Television's first theme song on Italia 1) and "I Love My Radio (Midnight Radio)" which reached the top of the British charts and led her to move to London signing a new record deal. In 1986 it was the turn of "Once More", presented both at the Festivalbar and at Azzurro '86 (the Delfini team that won that year). Together with Tracy Spencer she was one of the singers who accompanied Sandy Marton in his performances at the Festivalbar.
