ZaZa, Peter La Bonté was born on June 5, 1951 in Munich and is a German pop singer. He became famous in the summer of 1982 with the song "Zauberstab", considered a classic of the German New Wave. At the age of 12, Zaza began his career as a member of the "Regensburger Domspatzen" group. After graduating from high school, he trained as a commercial artist and initially worked at Siemens AG. Later, as a freelance graphic artist, he designed album covers. He continued his musical career in 1974 as a singer and drummer for various Munich rock bands. In 1978 he joined the reggae rock group "The Nighthawks" but three years later he returned to making his favorite musical genre. In August 1982, with the song "Zauberstab" it rose to 8th place in the singles chart in Germany. For ZaZa this was the only great success. The instrumental version (side B) of this track in slowed down version, was widely used in Afro discos in the early 80s. Daniele Baldelli used this version in the Cosmic set twice: Cosmic C.79 (1983) and Cosmic C.95 (1984).
