Richard Wahnfried is the pseudonym of Klaus Schulze, German musician and composer, born in Berlin on August 4, 1947. Klaus studied classical guitar, played in some Berlin bands, and during the sixties he founded the beat music trio of "Psy Free". In the early 70s he became a member of the "Tangerine Dream" first and then of the "Ash Ra Tempel". Schulze's solo career began only in 1972 with "Irrlicht", an ambitious "quadraphonic symphony for orchestra and electronic machines" in which he played analog equipment, organ, guitar and percussion. "Time Actor" is a 1979 studio album that was part of the "Richard Wahnfried" project. This project saw Klaus Schulze (synthesizers) as the only permanent member but in this album the singer Arthur Brown, the keyboardist Vincent Crane and the drummer Michael Shrieve collaborated. The album was reissued in 1990 with an extra track and the alternative title "Time Actor: Pop Meets Art".
