Natascia Maimone, better known as Natasha King, was born in New York on October 10, 1962. After moving to Italy and studying at the "Marymount International School Rome", in 1981 she collaborated with Paul Mazzolini in the "Range" project. They released the single "Give Me/U.F.0. Love Encounter", with arrangements by the Roman composer Pierluigi Giombini and production by Paul Micioni. After this experience with "Range", the two artists took different paths. In 1982, Paul Mazzolini, known as "Gazebo", reached the top of the Italian and European charts with the single "Masterpiece", followed by international hits such as "I Like Chopin", "Lunatic" and "Love In Your Eyes". Meanwhile, Natasha King embraced the Italo-Disco scene with the song "AM-FM", characterized by a "break-dance" rhythm and "rap" style vocals. The song achieved considerable success in America, especially in the clubs frequented by rappers. "AM-FM" was arranged and produced by Pierluigi Giombini, with the support of Max Ruocco on electric guitar, and probably represents one of the first rap songs sung in Italy. The song was printed and distributed by the renowned "Best Record" record label of Claudio Casalini, who also acted as executive producer. In 1983, Natasha participated in the recording of the song "Midnight Cocktail" by Gazebo adding an interesting connection between the two artists. It's fascinating to see how artists from the Italo-Disco scene have often collaborated and contributed to each other's musical projects. The release of the single "On Ice" in 1984, with arrangements and composition by Pierluigi Giombini, represents another significant chapter in Natasha King's career. The vinyl cover was designed by Franco Storchi, a well-known sci-fi illustrator who had already designed the covers of other singles, such as "Shaker Shaker" and "Can't You Feel It" by Time. "On Ice" featured Natasha at Festivalbar 1984. After these successes in dance music, Natasha King explored other musical genres and currently leads a singing workshop as a vocal coach. His artistic career is a fascinating journey through different musical styles and genres.
