"Love Unlimited" was a female vocal trio that made its debut in 1969. The group consisted of Barry White's future wife Glodean James, her sister Linda James and their cousin Diane Taylor. Their first big hit came in 1972 with the single "Walkin' in the Rain with the One I Love", which reached number fourteen on the Billboard Hot 100 and the same position on the UK Singles Chart in the United Kingdom. The song sold over a million copies and was certified gold by the RIAA in July 1972. In 1973, the group's album "Under the Influence of... Love Unlimited" hit No. 3 on the Billboard Pop Albums chart, making Love Unlimited the first girl group to have a Top 5 album since Diana. Ross and the Supremes in 1970. This album included the single "It May Be Winter Outside (But in My Heart It's Spring)", originally written by Barry White and Paul Politi for Felice Taylor in 1966. In 1975, the single reached the 11th position in the UK Singles Chart. Also in the same year, the group released their first and only chart-topping song: "I Belong to You." The song held the top position for a week on the best-selling soul singles chart and also rose to number 27 on the Billboard Hot 100. This track was included in their third album "In Heat", which also contained a vocal version of "Love's Theme". In 1977, Love Unlimited moved to Barry White's record label, Unlimited Gold, where they recorded two more albums: "He's All I've Got" and "Love Is Back". "Love Is Back" represents the group's fifth studio album. The album opens with the powerful song "I'm So Glad That I'm a Woman," an R&B song often considered an anthem to women, written by Barry White, Frank Wilson and Paul Politi. Three songs from this album reached the charts: "I'm So Glad That I'm a Woman", "High Steppin', Hip Dressin' Fella (You Got It Together)" and "If You Want Me, Say It ". Diane Taylor passed away on November 29, 1985 in Pomona, California, at the young age of 38, due to cancer.
