"Larabell" was an Italo Disco music project created in 1985 by Maurizio Pavesi and Stefano Secchi. The voice and image of this musical project were represented by singer and model Mariella Mio.
Mariella moved to Milan in the early 80s with the dream of becoming a model or singer and enrolled in a talent agency. In 1983, she began her career as a model, and shortly after, she was presented with an opportunity in the music industry. Italian producers Maurizio Pavesi and Stefano Secchi were looking for a beautiful girl who could sing. Mariella, who had already taken singing and piano lessons, was suggested for an audition.
The first single, "I Can’t Stop", was released in 1985 under the "Many Records" label. Larabell’s debut was very positive both in Italy and abroad, thanks to the promotion by producers Pavesi and Secchi. The song was arranged by Roberto Garau and played by Davide Gatti, Graziano Ravizza, and Marco Guarnerio.
In 1986, the second single, "Stop (When You Do What You Do)", was released, with arrangements by Manlio Cangelli. Other successful singles followed: "Feel It" (1986), "Up And Down" (1987), "You’ve Got The Power" (1988), "Ah L’amour" (1988), and "Passion" (2013).
