Leonardo Re Cecconi was born in Rho (Milan) on September 1, 1954. After attending architecture high school, Leonardo began working as a Radio Reporter. In 1977 he was hired as a radio host at Radio Milano International and soon became very famous with the nickname "Leopardo". At Radio Milano International, he was the conductor of two important radio programs: "Hit Parade" and "Soul Train". In 1982, in collaboration with the composer Giuseppe Sergio Santapaga and keyboardist Edo Martin, he started the Italo-Disco "Koxo" project, immediately achieving great success thanks to the single: "Step by Step". In 1983, again under the pseudonym "Koxo", the second and last single was released: "Shake It Up". Leonardo will then be one of the 10 important Italian DJs of the "Band Of Jocks", (Leonardo Re Cecconi, Betty Miranda, Gianni De Berardinis, Max Pagani, Ronnie Jones, Claudio Sottili, Tommy, Mauro Micheloni, Enzo Persueder and Federico l'olandese volante) that depopulated in 1983 with the single "Let's All Dance". After a professional experience at Radio 105 in the early eighties, in 1987 he returned to Radio Milano International. Leonardo Re Cecconi died in Milan on 22 January 2004 from laryngeal cancer.
