“Kongas” was a French musical group that formed in the early 1970s. Among the members of the band were Don Ray and Marc Cerrone who a few years later would write very important pages of Disco Music. The other members of the group were: André Allet, Norbert Journo, Patrick Sesti, Serge Tonini and Sylvain Claude. The first album by "Kongas" was released in 1974. The first track entitled "Anikana-O" was a re-adaptation of a song presented on the occasion of the Sanremo Festival '73, by the Italian band "J.e.t." This single still remains the most representative of the band "Kongas". In 1978 they re-released an extended 10-minute version of “Anikana-O” and included it on their new album of the same name. This new version became one of the songs most loved by DJs and most danced in the Afro-Funk clubs of those years.
