Jimmy McFoy, born Antoine Van Bladel, is an Italian singer, arranger and record producer born in Antwerp (Belgium) on June 28, 1959. In 1978 he moved to Rome with the hope of being able to make a career in the entertainment world as an actor. After making an appearance in Steno's film "Piedone l'Africano" (1978) with Bud Spencer, he was given a more important part in the film "Scorticateli Vivi" (1978) by Mario Siciliano. After these cinematic experiences, he left the capital to follow his father to Milan. He realized that he had uncommon vocal talents and proposed himself to various clubs in the area for piano bar evenings. One evening, while he was singing in the club "Moulin Rouge", he was noticed by the Italian producer Vincenzo Riga of the record label "Trash Records". After releasing an anonymous album in 1980, Jimmy won the Italian music event "Cantagiro" in 1981 with the song "My Black Cat". The second single "Get Up And Take Another Way" was also produced by Vincenzo Riga and during the recording, Tullio De Piscopo played on the drums. In that year Jimmy married and moved to Belgium until the end of 1982. Back in Milan, he recorded a new song with Augusto Righetti's musical group "Taxi". In early 1983 he met the producers Roberto Turatti and Miki Chieregato. Thus was born the project "Iudy" and the single "The Island Of The Sun". He was then introduced to Saverio Lombardoni of "Disco Magic", who was immediately enthusiastic about working with Jimmy. The first release on the "Disco Magic" label was the single "Tommy Bow-Dance Tonight" (1983). In subsequent works, he collaborated with Alberto Signorini "Paul Paul-Good Time" (1983), Gigi Maini "Joy Michael-Dancin'" (1983), Mario Boncaldo "Jimmy McFoy-I Can't Stay Without You" (1984), Larry Pignagnoli and Ivana Spagna “Stelee Up-Waiting For You” (1984), Walter Bassani “Jimmy McFoy-Hi Girl”(1985), Raff Todesco “Visions-Everybody” (1985) and many others. In 1985, during the recording of "Hi Girl", he met and later collaborated with the singer Eros Ramazzotti. In his long career, Jimmy McFoy sang on about 110 Italo Disco songs under various pseudonyms, often just lending his voice. Jimmy McFoy made his last performance as a singer in June 1991 in a Zurich nightclub. In the 90s he created his own studio in Cinisello Balsamo (Milan) and collaborated with various artists of that decade. In 1995 he recorded with Franco Moiraghi the great disco hit "Feel My Body".
