MAC JR.
“Mac Jr.” it was an Italo-Disco project created by the musician and singer Antonello Gabelli, the arranger and producer Pierluigi "Gigi" Maini and the deejay and producer Francesco Vaccari. The single “Elephant Song” was released in 1984 on the “Discomagic” record label. The song was not very successful in sales at the time but in the following years it became one of the most appreciated and sought after songs of the Italo-Disco genre. The song was recorded at the "General Recording Sound Studio" in Milan and was sung by Antonello Gabelli.
Massimo Noè also collaborated on the project as studio engineer and Roby Barocelli on keyboards.
J.D. JABER
"J.D. Jaber" was an Italo-Disco project produced by Alessandro Zanni and Stefano Cundari and written and arranged by Alessandro Gabelli and Gianluca Bergonzi. The song "Don't Stop Lovin'" was released in 1983 under the record label "Memory Records". The song was recorded in Parma at the "Montello Studios" and was officially sung by Gianluca Bergonzi. Some "unofficial" sources, however, say that the song "Don't Stop Lovin'" was performed by Paradiso Gilioli.
ANTONELLO GABELLI
Antonello Gabelli began his career as a musician at the end of the 60s, more precisely in 1969 when he replaced Fabrizio Levati as guitarist of the Italian group "I Corvi" made famous by the songs "Sono un Ragazzo di Strada" and the remake of "Bang Bang" . He left the Corvi band in 1971 and joined the musical group "Nuova Idea" replacing guitarist Marco Zoccheddu. Between 1983 and 1984 he published and arranged three singles under the "Memory Records" label that made the history of Italo-Disco: we are talking about J.D. Jaber “Don't stop lovin'" (done in collaboration with Gianluca Bergonzi), Duke Lake's “Do You” and Mac Jr.'s “Elephant Song”. In 1983, Ennio Tricomi founded "Cruisin' Records" and " Hiara Dischi" bringing back the old "Corvi" companions, Angelo Ravasini, Antonello Gabelli and Gimmi Ferrari to the recording studio after five years, resuming live activity. Antonello passed away in October 2016 and the following year the Corvi in his memory they did the “Lello Tour 2017”.
