Indeep was an American musical group, born in New York in 1982. The band was founded by musician and author Michael Cleveland. Female singers Réjane Magloire and Rose Marie Ramsey were part of the group. The song “Last Night a D.J. Saved My Life" was released by "Sound of New York / Becket Records" in December 1982 and achieved huge international success early the following year. In the United States, the song entered the Top 10 of the Hot R & B / Hip-Hop Songs, in second place in the Hot Dance Club Play and in the top 15 in the Official Singles Chart. In Europe, the success was even more resounding reaching the top ten in many countries and in France it was recognized as Gold-level in sales. The subsequent singles "When Boys Talk", "The Record Keeps Spinning" and "Buffalo Bill" were great tracks but did not achieve the same success as the first single. Later Réjane Magloire was part of the techno band “Technotronic”. In 2001 the singer Mariah Carey released a cover of "Last Night A Dj Saved My Life". In 2011 Michael Cleveland decided to reform the band by replacing the two female singers, Magloire and Ramsey, with Beckie Bell and WiX.
