Their son, Connor, is very resentful toward his mother because of the affair. Mysterious events begin plaguing the house...

Jackie takes her wife Jules to a remote cabin to celebrate their first anniversary. Jules becomes suspicious when Jackie's childhood friend, Sarah, visits and addresses Jackie as "Megan". Jackie explains that she changed her name by choice but Jules isn't satisfied and visits Sarah and her husband Daniel. Sarah explains that Jenny, a girl who was friends with her and Jackie, accidentally drowned in the lake when they were young and expresses surprise that Jackie never mentioned this. Jackie later claims that she failed to mention Jenny because she believed the accident was her fault, although the police cleared her of any wrongdoing. Jules embraces her wife, consoling her.

Fabio has just served eight months in prison for a crime he did not commit, in place of Claudio, a friend of his; former boxer, a delinquent of small caliber that aspires to become the boss of the Mandrione. Claudio manages various trafficking trades and also runs dog fights. Whenever his dogs are injured, he turns to his friend Fabio who, clandestinely in the back room of his dog wash, takes care of small surgical procedures and medications.

In 1968, a woman named Rose brings her four children from England to her childhood home, the Marrowbone Residence, in rural Maine. She urges them to leave their past behind and make new memories. Things start off well, and they make friends with a girl named Allie. However, Rose's health worsens and she dies, leaving behind her children Jack, Jane, Billy and Sam. Before dying, Rose instructs Jack to hide news of her death until he turns 21 and legally able to care for his siblings. Six months later, the person the family was running from finds the place.

A highly contagious outbreak ravages the planet. Paul, his wife Sarah, and their teenage son Travis are secluded in their home deep in the woods in an undisclosed location. After Sarah's father, Bud, contracts the disease, they kill him, and burn his body in a shallow grave. The next night, they capture an intruder breaking into the house. Paul ties him to a tree, and places a bag over his head overnight to confirm he is not suffering from the disease. The stranger, Will, explains he did not know the house was occupied, and was searching for fresh water for his wife and his young son.

Monica, a talk show host, interviews a severely disfigured woman who is the sole survivor of a massacre that took place on Halloween night one year prior. Monica mentions that the corpse of the killer, known only as Art the Clown, disappeared from the morgue after the massacre, suggesting that he might still be alive; but the disfigured woman insists that she saw him die. In her dressing room after the show, Monica insults the woman's appearance while having a phone conversation with her significant other.

Lifelong vegetarian Justine arrives at a veterinary school to start college. During the first night, she meets her gay roommate Adrien and is forced to partake in a hazing ritual, welcoming the new students. They are brought to a party, where Justine feels uncomfortable and meets her sister Alexia, who shows Justine old class photos, including one with their parents. The next morning, the new class is splattered with blood and are told to eat raw rabbit kidney. Justine refuses, saying she is a vegetarian but Alexia forces her to eat it, thus she reluctantly consumes the kidney.

Jessica Loren, a rookie police officer on her first assignment, is ordered to take the last shift at a police station before it is permanently closed. Her mother pleads with her not to take the job, as her father, also a police officer, was killed on duty. After assuring her mother, Loren reports for duty and her commanding officer Cohen, leads her on a brief tour, during which he explains that a HAZMAT team will be there to collect evidence that is difficult to dispose of and that she is not permitted to leave her post. Before he leaves, he gives Loren his phone number in case of emergency.
THE SEASONING HOUSE (UK 2013) Paul Hyett

The movie follows Angel, a young girl that is forced to work in a house that specializes in supplying kidnapped women forced into the sex trade to various military personnel. Initially planned to be put to work as an unwilling sex slave, Angel, a deaf mute with an "unattractive" birth mark on her face, instead becomes the assistant to Viktor, who runs the brothel. During the day she is given the duty of putting makeup on the kidnapped women and drugging them. When the men are finished with the women, Angel has the duty of cleaning them up after being violently raped by various men.

Soon after they move, strange things begin to occur that cause them to wonder if the move was really the best idea.

The film begins as protagonist Mary Mason does surgery on a turkey. Mary is a medical student preparing to become a surgeon. She struggles to pay her bills and applies for work at a strip club. Before the job interview ends, she is taken to an underground room by the club's owner, Billy Barker, and presented with a man who has been tortured. She is asked to save the tortured man's life for $5,000. She does so, but returns home in panic and disgust. Several days later she is approached by Beatress Johnson, a stripper at the club where Mary applied. Beatress has had herself surgically altered to resemble Betty Boop.
LESSON OF THE EVIL (JAPAN 2012) Takashi Miike

An English teacher named Seiji Hasumi (Hideaki Itō) is loved by his students and respected by his peers. He graduates from Harvard University with an MBA, and works at Morgenstern, a European investment bank, for two years. Hasumi returns to Japan to pursue high school teaching. However, his outward charm masks his true nature. In reality, Hasumi is a sociopathwho is unable to feel empathy for other human beings. Specifically, he has a severe antisocial personality disorder. Having killed both of his parents and his former tutor at the age of fourteen, Hasumi turns into a fiendishly clever killer.

The film opens with a series of television broadcasts saying that The Collector, a serial killer responsible for the disappearances of more than fifty people, is still at large, and now the focus of a massive police manhunt. Arkin O'Brien is his most recent victim. Teenager Elena Peters and her friends, Missy and Josh, go to a secret party at an undisclosed location. Elena witnesses her boyfriend, Brian, who bailed out on their date the same night, with another woman. After punching him in the face, she leaves the dance floor to enter an isolated room.

Megan Stewart, a popular 14-year-old girl, is well known and liked among her peers and is an honors student. However, Megan lives a double life — she is a drug addict, a victim of child sexual abuse, and has a turbulent relationship with her mother, who never forgave Megan for reporting her husband to authorities for molesting her at 9 years old, which led to his imprisonment. Amy Herman, her innocent best friend, is an outcast who doesn't want to fully let go of her childhood which causes her to be ridiculed by Megan's more troublesome friends.

Hae-won is a middle-rank officer working in a Seoul bank. A stern, tense, single woman, she is brought down by work-related stress and her hypercompetitive environment. Desperate for a change of pace, she takes up an offer from a long-forgotten friend to take a vacation in Mudo, a desolate Southern island where she spent childhood. Arriving at the island, she is warmly welcomed by Bok-nam, with whom she had a close friendship when both were in their teens, but whose constant letters she's since ignored.

Semi-retired porn star Miloš lives with his wife, Marija, and six-year-old son, Petar. His brother, Marko, a corrupt police officer, is attracted to Marija. Marija is curious about her husband's past and is concerned about the family's income. Lejla, a former co-star, offers Miloš a starring role in an art film directed by Vukmir, an independent pornographer, who wishes to cast Miloš for his powerful erection. Having already caught Petar watching one of his films and unaware of the details of Vukmir's film, Miloš is hesitant to participate and continue his career, but accepts to secure his family's financial future.
THE SHRINE (CANADA 2010) Jon Knautz

The film starts with a man tied to a ceremonial table. Another man then kills him with a sledgehammer to the face. A journalist, Carmen, is having problems with her relationship with her boyfriend, Marcus who is a photographer. Carmen never seems to stop thinking about work and tends to ignore him. Carmen asks her boss to allow her to investigate the disappearances of several tourists in the fictional Polish village of Alvania, the man killed at the beginning of the film. She also mentions that the luggage of all the missing tourists ends up being found all around rural parts of central Europe.
THE LOVED ONE (AUSTRALIA 2009) Sean Byrne

Brent is driving with his father in the passenger seat, when a bloodied man appears in the middle of the road. Swerving to avoid hitting the man, Brent's vehicle collides with a tree. Six months later, Brent is planning to attend a high school dance with girlfriend Holly, having politely refused an offer by Lola Stone. Brent and Holly meet up, go to Holly's car and they have sex, seen by the now hurt Lola. Holly drives the pair on account of the car crash, and it's revealed that Brent's father died in the accident. Wracked with guilt, Brent has turned to recreational cannabis use and self-mutilation with a razor blade he keeps on a necklace.
HUMAN CENTIPEDE (FIRST SEQUENCE) (NETHERLAND 2009) Tom Six

Lindsay and Jenny, two American tourists in Germany, are drugged and involuntarily detained by crazed surgeon Dr. Josef Heiter when they seek help at his house after they get a flat tire. The women awake in a makeshift medical ward. They witness Heiter kill a kidnapped truck driver after Heiter informs him he is "not a match". Heiter secures a new male captive, Japanese tourist Katsuro. The doctor explains that he is a world-renowned expert at separating Siamese twins, but dreams of making new creatures by sewing people together.
THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL (USA 2009) Ti West

In the 1980s, college student Samantha Hughes inspects a house she wishes to rent. Due to Samantha reminding her of her own daughter, the landlady forgoes a deposit in favor of one month's rent in advance. Samantha is struggling financially so she takes on a babysitting job for Mr. Ulman and his wife. Ulman asks to meet her but stands her up, later apologizing and offering to pay double the original salary. Samantha accepts and gets a ride to the remote mansion from her best friend, Megan.
LAKE MUNGO (AUSTRALIA 2008) Joel Anderson

Sixteen-year-old Alice Palmer drowns while swimming with her family at a dam in Ararat, Australia. Following the tragedy, her teenaged brother Mathew sets up video cameras around the house to record what seem to be images of Alice's ghost appearing in the family home. It's discovered that Mathew was actually setting up the "sightings" of his dead sister to give the family reason to exhume her body and give his mother closure. However, upon closer review, one of the hoax videos captures Alice's bedroom being searched by Brett, a neighbor for whom she had worked as a babysitter.
THE CHILDREN (UK 2008) Tom Shankland

Casey, a rebellious teenage girl, is travelling with her mother Elaine, her stepfather Jonah, and her two younger half-siblings, Miranda and Paulie, to spend the New Year holiday at the secluded home of Elaine's sister, Chloe. Chloe, her husband Robbie, and their two young children, Nicky and Leah, welcome their visitors. Shortly after arriving, Paulie steps near some bushes and begins vomiting, which the adults believe is due to travel sickness or just some random bug as is usual for kids to catch.
TAXIDERMIA (HUNGARY 2006) Gyorgy Palfi

At a remote Hungarian military outpost, orderly Morosgoványi Vendel lives a wretched existence of servitude beneath the heel of his lieutenant, Öreg Balatony Kálmán. Condemned to performing menial duties for the officer and his family while sleeping in an unheated shack next to the latrines, Morosgoványi frequently escapes into fantasy. So realistic are these fantasies that in one ambiguous instance, Morosgoványi sleeps with and impregnates the lieutenant's wife and "wakes up" to find himself engaged in an act of sodomy with a slaughtered pig. Upon seeing this, the lieutenant promptly executes Morosgoványi and raises the son, Balatony Kálmán, as his own.

Aging actress Mrs. Li wants to rejuvenate her youth and beauty to attract the attention of her husband, Li, who has secretly taken a mistress behind her back. She buys dumplings from Aunt Mei, a mysterious seller who claims to be much older than she appears. However, to her disgust, she learns that the dumplings are in fact made from aborted fetuses, which Mei takes from a nearby hospital that has a secret abortion facility, as well as working as an abortion midwife herself.

May Dove Canady is a 28-year-old woman, who suffered from a troubled childhood due to her lazy eye. She has very few social interactions, her only "true friend" being a glass-encased doll named Suzie made by her mother and given to May for her birthday with the adage "If you can't find a friend, make one." May works at a veterinary hospital, assisting with surgeries. Her optometrist fixes May's lazy eye, first with glasses, then with contact lens.
ICHI THE KILLER (SOUTH KOREA 2001) Takashi Miike

In a flashback, Ichi masturbates on an apartment balcony while watching a pimp assault a prostitute within. Off-camera, sadistic crime underboss Anjo is brutally murdered. An expert cleaning crew run by Jijii immediately removes any trace of Anjo's remains, and credits Ichi for the kill. Later, Kakihara, Anjo's sadomasochistic enforcer, and other crime lords visit the spotless apartment, concluding that Anjo fled town with the prostitute and ¥3 million of the gang's money. Kakihara visits an underworld night club with other gang members. He tells Anjo's girlfriend, an English-speaking Chinese prostitute named Karen that Anjo must still be alive, though perhaps kidnapped by a rival gang.
SEUL CONTRE TOUS (FRANCE 1998) Gaspar Noé

The history of the Butcher, who is given no other name, is narrated through voice-over and a montage of still photographs. Orphaned at a young age, he was sexually abused by a priest. As a teenager, unable to have the opportunity to study and learn a profession of his choice, he reluctantly embraces the career of butcher specializing in horse meat, a profession already frowned upon at the time in France.
