In 1977 "I Remember Yesterday" was released, an absolute masterpiece of the "Queen" of Disco-Music, an album that contained the songs "I Feel Love", "Love's Unkind" and "I Remember Yesterday". This LP sold over 10 million copies and was nominated for the "American Music Awards". In 1978, Donna Summer debuted as an actress in the film "Thank God It's Friday" and recorded three songs for the film's soundtrack. One of the tracks was titled "Last Dance" which became a mega-hit and won several awards including the "Grammy Awards" for best original song. The 1978 "live" album, titled Live and More, became his first to reach number 1 on the Billboard album charts and likewise presented his first single at number 1 with "MacArthur Park". In 1979 "Bad Girls", Donna Summer's most successful album, was released. 12 million copies of the album were sold and the single "Hot Stuff" sold over 5 million copies. In that same year he released "On The Radio", his latest album with the historic label "Casablanca". "On The Radio" will be the third consecutive album to reach # 1 on the US Billboard chart. In 1980 Donna Summer signed a new contract with the record company "Geffen Records" and from that moment the artist's decline began. In 1983, he marked his biggest hit of the decade with the song "She Works Hard for the Money". Lung cancer patient, she died on May 17, 2012 at the age of 63, at her home in Naples, a seaside town on the west coast of Florida. The funeral was celebrated at Christ Presbyterian Church in Nashville on the following 23 May privately and without the admission of cameras. The body was interred in Nashville's Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens Cemetery.
