Claudja Barry is a singer, songwriter and actress born in Jamaica in 1952. At the age of six, she emigrated with her family from Jamaica to Scarborough (Ontario), Canada. She began her musical career at a very young age and at fifteen she made her debut in a television show. After graduating from high school, she was selected for a role in Heathcote Williams' “AC/DC” musical and left for London. From the English to the German stages, where she participated to the musical “Catch My Soul” (a musical adoption of Shakespeare's “Othello”) at the DS Westerns theater in Berlin. In the spring of 1975, the European tour ended in West Germany and it was in Munich that Claudja met the music producer Jurgen Korduletsch. Jurgen, as well as being a well-known producer, was a musician, arranger and owner of the record label "Lollipop." In 1976, Claudja Barry's first studio album entitled "Sweet Dynamite" was released. In addition to the hit single that gave the title of the album, the 33 rpm included one of the best songs of Disco Music: Love For The Sake Of Love. In 1977 we remember the hit "Dancin 'Fever", a song much loved by DJs. In 1978 the album was released "I Wanna Be Loved By You" and the single "(Boogie Woogie) Dancin 'Shoes" will become Claudja Barry's biggest record hit.
