Juan Fernando Silvetti Adorno, known as Bebu Silvetti or simply Silvetti, was a Mexican pianist, composer, conductor, arranger and record producer of Argentine origin. Silvetti was born on March 27, 1944 in the city of Quilmes (Argentina), located in the province of Buenos Aires. He began playing the piano at the age of six and at 19 he left Argentina to move to Spain for a few years to play as a pianist in famous jazz clubs. In the early 1970s he moved to Mexico and began arranging and composing. He recorded his first album, which contained his signature track, "Spring Rain". The LP was released in the US on Salsoul Records. Released in 1975, the single "Spring Rain" went unnoticed until 1977 when, driven by its popularity in discos, it reached number four on the "National Disco Action Top 40 USA". Bebu Silvetti died on July 5, 2003 at the age of 59 from respiratory failure caused by complications of lung cancer treatment. By the time of his death, he would have composed more than 600 songs, over 200 television and radio commercials, and a number of film and TV soundtracks.
